Hi Yama, The answer lies in the fact that Calcium is a nice little house cat and forms a more "stable" bond with EDTA when compared to Magnesium. Magnesium is like an independent alley cat and a little less stable with EDTA at what is called the coordination point. What happes is that EDTA has six sites available to share with another element. And Calcium is very happy to join with EDTA at those sites.. In my home area of Fresno (but I live in San Francisco) this is a very important issue because of the water "hardness" issues in the Great San Joaquin Valley. And EDTA is the most common method of determining "water hardness" Water "hardness" really describes how much "metals cations" are present in the water which can cause all kinds of interesting things; such as forming with soapy anions to form "scale" on refrigeration cooling towers (white muck). So how do you determine the hardness? Well, you look for "Calcium" and "Magnesium" ions! Because those two elements are the most common that exist in "hard" water. And "hardness" is most frequently measured through what is called "chelation". Chelation is simply the the abiltiy of available sites at the chemical structure level and how they combine with other available sites on another chemical structure. The problem is that the Calcium is such a happy house cat that it is very stable and difficult to get out when if forms a "white mucky scale" on cooling towers, piping systems, and other industrial equipment. We are currently living in the San Francisco Bay area. We really want to find a nice, safe, family-friendly community with great schools and good people. Well mainly I became a vegetarian because of cruelty to animals. Health wise I feel better than ever. No, I just went cold turkey (pardon the saying) and for the first few days I craved meat but after that I never really wanted it any more. No meat didn't always repulse me I ate meat for a long time before I changed. Now I did research and really thought about it for a long time. I talked to my parents even though they think it's dumb and unhealthy. So you should talk to yours and tell them that you want to but need help and want theirs. And my strength hasn't diminished any, that's a myth. Just stay healthy eat right, get protein and you'll be fine. I just feel fine, sometimes people ume things and that bothers me, but, I can ignore it. Because I'm not 'grown up' yet they think I haven't made and informed decision, but just go with your heart and don't let other change your mind. If you want to be a vegetarian just be one.

It's 3am. She's coming downstairs because I'm awake. She does this every single night I'm awake to check on me. I'm studying. She makes up weird excuses like that she's "bringing things down," or starts messing around in the kitchen making a shitload of noise like knocking pots & pans (she never actually seems to be doing anything with them other than making noise, and I don't see what she would be doing with them at 3 in the morning anyhow)... She went back upstairs, and soon after I heard her brushing her teeth. Not too long after that (when she heard the door opening), she let the dog out of her room so it would come downstairs. I ******* held my breath until she came down calling after me, asking if the dog was down here. She did it on purpose. This is completely normal behavior for her. Earlier tonight, she was falling asleep at the wheel for the latter part of an hour + drive back home. She took one 10 minute nap, and then I woke her up as she asked me to, and she continued the whole way home in an almost dream state. I don't know how she gets so LUCKY somehow, but she was going 70-80mph the whole time on the highway, in NY (55 state speed limit), and speeding like nuts in town to home also. Not only was she speeding, but she's a pretty tered and flaky person to begin with (thus, driver as well), and because she was so tired, the way she was driving would have come off clearly to anyone else on the road or police officer as though she had been drinking. I was very uncomfortable the whole ride, and tried to state that to her, but she refused to let me drive because it was after 9pm and I only have my permit (all I have to do is take my road test, it's not like the case is that I can't drive), so it's ILLEGAL and she has this superhero complex of some sort -- and she also would refuse to have a cup of ******* coffee since she did insist on driving, to wake her up, and make it SAFE, because she "know[s] [her] body" -- she's on an alkaline diet (strictly health purposes), more of this superhero self-righteous bullshit. She's obsessive and extreme; she checks her alkaline levels every morning with strips, so she quit drinking coffee. When she does, her alkaline levels increase the next morning. This does not even begin to relay a complete sense of her... She did have a pituitary adnoma (sp?) earlier in life, which is a small brain tumor of some sort, and all it meant was that she didn't menstruate, and therefore was unable to bear children. She got rid of it, but she had it for 17 years, I think. That's all I can think of as something that might have had some gradual disintegration effect on her cognitive functioning or something? Please help me, I just need some help understanding. I need some sensical reasonable plausible answer for this.

It's a personal choice and yes they can hurt. The key is wearing them occasionally. As a short woman the positives are height, power and a y look. All three are quality weapons. Trigger to grip the same size on all three. For a concealment weapon the 26 is the best. You sacrifice magazine capacity, grip size and barrel length. The 19 is a good choice. It depends on what you want the gun for. Take a look at the 22, 23 and 27. Identical guns in physical size to the 17,19 & 26, just have a .40 caliber instead on a 9MM. 9MM is a bit cheaper to shoot, slightly less recoil, but the .40 is a superior round. I have carried them all over the past 20 years and they have never let me down. My choice now is a 22 for primary duty weapon, with a 27 for back up and off duty carry.

Is it colic?

My daughter is 5.5 weeks old. THe past week she has had a fussy spell from about 730pm to 11pm. She doesn't cry constantly...there are things I can do to soothe her, but they only last about a minute. So, I put her in the swing, she stops crying, 1 minute later, screaming. I pick her up and put her in the bouncy seat. She stops. I think I've figred out what is wrong, 1 minute later, screams. I hold her, 1 minute later, screams, put her on the floor, one minute later, screams, try to feed her, try to burp her, try to cuddle her, leave her alone, talk to her.....I am feeding if that means anything here...I am about at my wits end. About 11pm I am about in tears until she finally eats and then falls asleep for the night. Is there anything else I can do? I DO try those gas drop things...they don't help either. Please help!

A possible case of elderly abuse...? What is your opinion?

I am a CNA and work for a Home Health Agency, and I have this elderly patient that showed up with some ugly bruises in 2 fingers (left hand) and wrist. This is not the first time. I had reported to my agency the time before, and now reported again. The bruises are dark purplish-red. I left my patient's house on Thursday and the bruises were not there. Then on Friday they were there. I asked her, but she can't remember (she has Alzheimer's and Dementia). I asked her daughter and son, none of them could give me an answer. They don't seem very concern with her bruises. I can't prove anybody did anything, but they surely look suspicious. My patient has told me many times when we're alone that she wished she would disappear and never came back home. She is very unhappy at home, since nobody really talks to her, unless when she does something wrong, then they yell at her. So today my agency called the daughter and she was MAD because she said I accused her of abusing her mother. I told her I never accuse anybody of anything, it's just my job to report any changes in her mom's condition (bruises, pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc). She said "I don't want DCF - Dept Children and Families - in it. They were after us once and I don't want to go through this thing again. I am not abusing my mom!" (she said this yelling at me). She said "I hope you will still have your job tomorrow". She insinuated that I did wrong by reporting the bruises and that the agency would fire me. But I'm just following the policies of the company. What is your opinion in this matter? Do you think they are already investigating this? I hope so!!!

Dog is wimpering and falls people around- what is going on?

West Highland Terrier. He was around the house today and was acting perfectly normal. About 30 minutes ago he started wimpering and crying extremely loudly. He would then escort you into the living room, and howl some more. He appears to be restless and anxious. Does anyone know what might cause this? How many turns out for the factory set pilot air screw on my Yamaha TTR 125 carburetor?

As I recall the factory air screws on these have a br cap pressed into the housing (to prevent tampering), and even when you remove them, its going to have minimal effect when you turn it either way. TTR's are a very lean running bike and require the choke being on for a rather long period of time at startup (3-4 minutes) before the bikes throttle becomes snappy and responsive. You should try getting a richer jet kit for it, they seem to be what a lot of people prefer to make them run a lot cleaner. They also have a small problem with the choke plunger sticking. Be sure to take it out every once in awhile and keep it oiled. It will trick you into thinking theres a carb problem when its just a sticky plunger. It never hurts to spring for the service manual either, the bikes bible is always the best bet for manufacturers specs and settings.

I heard a strange animal noise while hiking, what was it?

Twice, in less than a week and in different locations about 25 miles apart (both in eastern Washington wetland areas) I was hiking with friends and heard the strangest sound. I can only describe it as a deep, sort of nasal grunting sound, like "Uuuuuuunh... unh unh unh unh." I thought it sounded like something a big animal like a moose would make, but I know it wasn't a moose. Where do I begin? I'm fifteen-years-old, and going into my Junior year in September. I've always been a sort of Renaissance-kinda guy, as in, I've always had a lot of things that interested me. I've always been a superb reader and writer, and writing short stories have always been a hobby of mine. However, I also co-manage a rather successful (around the area) mobile DJ Entertainment business, and taking it to the next level has always interested me. Along with the DJing business, I've often wondered about going into the music business industry, because I've always loved editing and making my own music (I play a bit of piano). I also have researched tons of information on evolutionary biology, and know more about it than most people should be bothered to know, simply because it fascinates me. Because evolution is such a controversial topic, I became quite a capable debater, so I contemplated pursuing a career as a lawyer, but then I heard that you have to sell your soul or something similar to be a lawyer, plus the overall atmosphere of the field is depressing from what I've heard. I also know how to work animation programs and make cartoons. One final thing I am interested in is the study of the mind, why we do certain things and act in certain ways, based on my knowledge of evolutionary biology. Overall, I do a lot of things. Unfortunately, the result of this has left me utterly confused as to what I want to do when I graduate high school, and now I'm a little frightened that I'll not only make the wrong career choice, but send myself down a wrong overall road. The first time I noticed something was strange to me, was my husband would go to bed with his 13 year old daughter whenever she had nightmares as he called them, sleeping behind her very close. However, now my stepdaughter is 31 years old and married with 3 children of her own for 13 years and told us she is very happily married ( I married them by the way and proud of it). She is able raise her children and loves her husband deeply. My husband does not like our son-in-law and refuses to move out of state or even the next county, said he is afraid for his little girl and does not trust his son-in-law. I am feed up with this because, we have educated our stepdaughter, isted with any family issues and she loves her husband. My relationship with my stepdaughter started off good and then we had a few issues (mainly due to her mother being jealous of me the stepmom), but we have a really good relationship now that she is old enough to understand about life and relationships. I believe my stepdaughter and husband need their space to continue growing and raising their famiy without my husband learking around. My stepdaughter and son-in-law seem to do better when they are left alone. They know if they need anything we will be their for them. They are stable and I love them both very much, we are always there for them. I am enjoying being Nana (7 grandkids). I have 3 PCs networked. One connects directly to the internet (Say PC-1) by EDGE using a BlueTooth modem. Other two (Say PC-2 & PC-3) accesses internet by using PC-1's internet connection. PC-2 can browse the net very well. But PC-3 is troubling. I have tried connecting PC-3 directly via BlueTooth modem and it works. But the only problematic topology is that: PC-1 connected via BlueTooth modem, PC-2 & PC-3 connected to a hub that connects them to PC-1 shared internet connection. PC-2 runs fine but PC-3 just cant browse anything.

What is a nice way to tell someone I am planning to sue them?

I know there is no 'nice' way, but here's the gist, hopefully someone can help me. Earlier this year, a friend of mine was going to a big convention where he thought some of my artwork would be of interest to the people going there. I sent him with about 12 paintings, the smallest was about $50 and the largest ones, which were several, about $400-$500 each. He told me only a few had sold, and he would send the others back. I waited, and waited, and now he is avoiding my phone calls and emails. I recently sent him an email and he said he would get to it that week, but this was about three weeks ago. He does this, he buys time and then never does anything. I'm sick of it, and am planning to sue. I want to let him know I am planning on it, that if he would just do the right thing and arrange for this art to get back to me, and ACTUALLY get it back to me, I won't. What is a nice way of telling him that? BTW, I have doentation of him taking the art, as well as several of these emails where he says he will, but never follows through with it. There is also a magazine article he wrote that states the art was taken by him to this event, so I think I'll be good in court as far as evidence goes.

I am on NYS Unemployment but...?

I am on NYS unemployment but I had an old employer call me this morning asking me to work 2 days next week. I have a problem with this because I draw the full amount on unemployment and I'm sure they're going to pay me the ridiculously low wage they paid me when I worked there which will probably amount to less than $100 for 2 days of work. I QUIT this job the beginning of last summer and draw an extremely low amount for unemployment, probably negligible, for this reason. The message they left me said "We are offering work to all of our past employees who are on unemployment". I hate this place with a pion and I refused to work there then and they are trying to get me back temporarily and i want to refuse that now but I don't want them to contact unemployment and tell them I refused work and mess up my benefits. On it we checked JOINT for the "Legal custody shall be..." box and then MOTHER was checked for "The primary physical custodian shall be..." box. However, just yesterday my ex was trying to convince me that she has more custodial rights, and thereby a greater say, in what happens with the kids because of that box relating to the primary physical custodian being her. Mysterious & Strange Cat Man?

So, I posted this add for my cat on craigslist and one day received an e-mail from a guy that was interested. I thought the messages he sent me seemed a bit strange becuase he used words like "highly interested in adopting your pet to my good home", "I lost my pet on the way to the vet clinic a few days ago", and "I would like to adopt your pet to reduce tragedy in my mind." I thought it was strange that a person talked like that and I just ignored that and sent them more info on the cat and they replied with an e-mail titled in caps "URGENT REPLY IS NEEDED" basically that e-mail said they were interested in the cat but, near the end weirded me out when he said "give me your full name, address, and phone number, regard the pick up i have contacted the reliable movers company that will handle the pick from your door step to my home without no problem." Contrary to what NikB says, losing weight is ALL about calories!! Yes exercise burns calories but that does not mean you can eat as much as you like. Let me explain, to lose weight you need to create a calorific deficit which basically means you need to burn more calories than you consume, to lose 1lb in weight you need to burn 3500, yes 3500 more than you consume, so around 500 a day to lose 1lb a week. This sounds almost impossible but believe me it's not as difficult as you might think. You can work out how many calories per day you should be taking in to lose weight but make sure you don't eat too little or your body will think there is something wrong and will actually store fat rather than burn it!! laughing.....my husband is the same way. I am not a cuddler at all but my husband is and he would annoy me with always hanging on to me. I couldn't even do the dishes or cook dinner without him coming from behind me and grabbing my . I finally had to sit and talk with him, it was too much for me. I told him I loved his attentions but sometimes I need him to calm down on the attention he gives me because it can be a big turn off. Also I told him I need what I like to call "me time" meaning you leave me alone for a little while (a couple of hours). I have to say everything is much better for us now since our talk. I am a young married mother of two and have decided to go back to school... I have never been the type of person that knows exactly what I want to do with my life although I've often had many different ideas. My interests/things I could see myself doing on a long term basis would be anything in regards to psychology/sociology. surgery not only did hospital where he did this major surgery it turned out to be the hospital where he did surhery only able to handle minor surgery I went in for laparscopy with a 3 inch incision told nothing about the even possiablility of haveing to do anything different he did not postpone surgery surgery that he went in to do witch he says that he found adhesion with laparscopy but I in no kind emergecy at all shape or form he could have should have closed up up the small 3 inch incision and then postponed the open surgery till he talked to me about the open surgery with it being major surhery difference in 3 inches to the surgery he said I needed so I could least know what going on even my family was right out waiting room and he even did not get there permision or even tell them what he found out what he going to do he took upon self to make such a decision for me when the hospital not equiped to even handle such a surgery they dont have the moderen equipment that dr really needs to montor you during surgery and does not even have a dr tance to help him even had only lpn helping him during this kind of surgery major and did not have any back up what so ever if I started to bleed or if he even aciendently puncdured a oegan they been nobody he could called to even help him he was even only dr that even there becides the er dr that was in entire hospital and did not have the mecication that I found out know they use to make sure adhesion that what he said why he had to do open surgery they got all kinds medication that ensure they dont come back since that what causes adhesion to even happen is surgery and I also found out that a expert surgeon he only general surgeon that they could remove adhesion with the laparsopy what can be done about this to make him relize that he does have to answer to someone for his decision and that he did take oath to give me the patient the best care that is available for me to get this is hospital where at any given time they only be 5 or 6 cars in whole parking lot and dont even have radioligst on duty after the surgery he negelected to give me any attention the whole 5 days witch I devolped a fever of 101.3 and white blood count 24,000 and on on records says that he and another dr was concerened about me with my on going infection and signs of penomia fluild on stomach and the edimiea thats 9 hours later he discharged me with it being sickest I been the whole time when should have trasfered me to a advanced hospital where they had several diferent dr in different fields so they could have found out what was causing my infection when he never even did that and worse all its was june 23 when surgery was and today I still inpain feels like a sore in one place right below my rib cage and when move or raise arm makes it feel like a pulling sencation cant walk 30 feet even know with out hurting so bad even running fever find it about impossiable to find another dr that will treat me since haveing trouble from surgery from dr different than the one trieing to see now like they dont want to get involved at all what can do know something wrong scared bad cant get no help from the one did it to other dr because of not wanting to get involed but family dr did say it looked like it done in 1960 please forgive me I was going school to learn how spell put things in right place so sorry for that but anybody got any advice on what I do for this ever happen or what do now to find out what he really done wrong I not getting any better each day as I should he put me in so much danger and did not have the right help to asistace him during surgery or the right moderen equipment to montor me or the right mecications to give me to make sure dont get adhesion back I read that they come back fast 6 weeks I found out a expert surgeon could have done removed these adhesion with laparscopy just would took 2 to 4 hours but I still been able to even got out hospital same day fully avitivilty in one week cant find nobody help me when I treated so wrong from even doing surgery at this hospital and the danger he put me in with no back up in case emeregcy nobody he could even called in to help him plus him not even haveing a licence helper this hospital surgery room is just 10 feet wide at most somebody going have die if I cant find someone to bring this to there attention think hospital be responable for there dr thats working for them if just seen reation in hospital after surgery when nurses seen my scar you know how serious this was you tell way they was calling in other nurses to just look at scar it was unbeliable thats when I postive something milicious had happened and me not getting no better each day lost 36 pounds since june 23 and only weighed 186 before now 150 and still loseing still cant eat right at all any help will be appericated more than words can say from what dr did with out you look up on computer about informed concent you see and you also look up laparscopy rather than open

Ambivalence about having kids?

I've been with my boyfriend for about 2 years and last week we started talking about getting engaged. He suggested getting some pre-marital counseling which I think if a good idea. One issue that I've been grappling with is deciding whether or not I want kids. My feelings have been mixed; on one level I think I'd have a lot to offer as a mother but on the other hand, I'm scared. Also, my own mother has been trying to talk me out of having kids for years even when I expressed an interest. The truth is is that I've been reading a lot of negative stories from mothers complaining about how much it sucks, but I know that's only one side of it. I also read an article about a mother with an autistic child which created a frightening picture (I was thinking "what if that happens to me?") I told my boyfriend that I didn't really want kids but now I'm starting to rethink it (which I mentioned to him btw). After traveling with him to meet his family and seeing how he is with his nieces, I don't want to close myself off from that possibility. My thought was that if I did have kids, I would only do so under the right cirstances. My boyfriend is the most considerate, kind, loving and affectionate man and I feel privledged to have him in my life. Plus, I think he'd be extremely supportive, too. I didn't have the best childhood myself which can also be a reason not to, but at the same time I think it's made me more sensitive and aware, too. Is it normal to have these feelings?

Its a 2000 kx 250 2 stroke dirtbike and it runs fine except for it doesnt idle in first gear unless u keep giving it ga. if u dont it just stalls. as in, in neutral...i kick...its on....it can idle in neutral....then i have to give a little bit of gas and click it into 1st or else it will just stall....BASE line...i cant idle in 1st gear with out givingg it short bursts of gas and keep the rpms up...but not too too high. how do i set the idle???

Me and my sibilings went to our family doctor for a reg check up, me an my sister told her we always feel tired and sleepy, when we sleep it is very hard to wake us up. She told us the purpose is b/c we have a low vitamin D level. so it is the same thing, many people who live in canada or areas that is cloudy or night is much longer then day people often found with low vitamin d level b/c we get vitamin d from sunlight mostly, and since there isnt enought sunlight we have a lack of vitamin d. the doctor told us to eat eggs, milk containing food like cheese, etc. or the easier way is to do the samething i did i went to a pharamcy and bought vitamin d pills. i am not sure what theu call them. By doing 100 sit ups per day how long will it take to tone up my stomach?

I have a reasonably slim/flat stomach anyway, but it's not quite as toned as I want it to be. I'm cutting down on calories by at least 400-500 per day, so i'm eating approx. 1000-1200 calories per day. By doing 100 sit ups and some other workouts (following the Rosemary Conley workout) how long will it take for me to get a flatter stomach? Also, what other exercises can I do to achieve this? Also, what are some other exercises which I can do to help slim down my legs? I would run, but I currently am not allowed to due to a ripped cartilage in my knee and I'm allowed to start again in 2 months. My boyfriend is grieving and in a hell of a state. How can I help him?

On Wednesday 1st of December, my boyfriend called to tell me his dad died suddenly. He was 42 years' old. My boyfriend is 24 and now has no parents. We are expecting a baby in the new year but at the moment he is obviously and understandably, inconsolable experiencing the natural stages of grief. He has never been through the loss of a family member before so this is all new to him. He was incredibly close to his dad as it was he, along with the help of his grandparents, that bought him up until he joined the army 7 years ago. Unfortunately, his grandmother is terminally ill, and along with his grandfather, is as I write this, aboard a cruise ship in the med until next wednesday, when they dock at southampton. He has managed to contact his grandparents to inform them of the tragic news, however he has been left with the impression that the sole responsibility of arranging everything but more honouring the costs, is going to fall on his shoulders. His grandfather has just paid the medics aboard the ships hospital a significant amount of money for his wifes care, and mentioned this to my boyfriend. I have talked with my boyfriend in trying to reure him that i am sure this was just said in conversation and not meant to be taken for my boyfriend to shoulder all responsibility. Everyone is in a state of shock, including my boyfriends' grandfather, who has decided against telling his wife of her sons death. He has asked me twice now to accompany him to see his dad and twice has changed his mind and said no but i completley understand due to the fact that we may have to be away for a few days and there is no one to look after our dog and two cats. Although I am heavily pregnant and due soon, I want to support and help him in any way I can but for myself, selfishly, am finding it incredibly difficult as to know what to do for the best, apart from just going along with what he wants and to be patient. His dads body will not be released now until the new year as we were informed by the coroners office today, as an inquest now has to be held etc so you can imagine how in limbo both my boyfriend and his grandparents are going to feel. Im looking in to help with funeral costs etc on behalf of and for my boyfriend, just incase its needed, while he is away dealing with everything. But i feel completely useless right now, as hes due to leave in a few hours and i desperately want to go with him and help/support him. I want to be the one to hold his hand when he goes in to see his dad, not someone else, like his dads mistress. Selfish as that sounds on my part, its how i feel and is not about me whatsoever.
