For those that have seen carpet samples lately - do you like carpet with flecks of color in it?

Do you like the carpets that have flecks of gold or orange in it? The carpet I'm looking at is a shag-like carpet, but thicker and maybe a bit shorter than a regular shag. Trying to decided if I want a plain color or a color that has flecks of color in it. The color I want is a grayish brown, neutral color. I'm in my late 20's, so I'm looking for hip/funky/cute carpet, but something that I will still like in 10 years. It's for a living room that will be elegant/stylish yet on the casual side.
