How can I create an online donation account?

To put it plainly, I have a friend who is an amazing person. His father died last year and now his car has broken down. It was an old car anyways because he's not the type to get something new when something old isnt broken. I know thousands of people out there would gladly throw in a few dollars for a fellow American.
