Is there anyone else out there who is using their digital converter box?

I HATE it absolutely Hate it. You get a better picture if you can get the stupid thing to come in, it spits and sputters and it's half a s s e d viewing. I would rather hear the white noise snow of the og. This is good for Nobody but the cable people. Anyone else feel the same?

A downgrade is rumored to be in the works. Considering what Obama is doing, I cannot blame the rating agencies. It will be interesting to watch Obama try to get them to hold off on the downgrade till after the November elections, and it will be interesting to see if the rating agencies give Obama the finger.

Why is Mg complex less stable than the Ca complex when titrated with edta?

Hi Yama, The answer lies in the fact that Calcium is a nice little house cat and forms a more "stable" bond with EDTA when compared to Magnesium. Magnesium is like an independent alley cat and a little less stable with EDTA at what is called the coordination point. What happes is that EDTA has six sites available to share with another element. And Calcium is very happy to join with EDTA at those sites.. In my home area of Fresno (but I live in San Francisco) this is a very important issue because of the water "hardness" issues in the Great San Joaquin Valley. And EDTA is the most common method of determining "water hardness" Water "hardness" really describes how much "metals cations" are present in the water which can cause all kinds of interesting things; such as forming with soapy anions to form "scale" on refrigeration cooling towers (white muck). So how do you determine the hardness? Well, you look for "Calcium" and "Magnesium" ions! Because those two elements are the most common that exist in "hard" water. And "hardness" is most frequently measured through what is called "chelation". Chelation is simply the the abiltiy of available sites at the chemical structure level and how they combine with other available sites on another chemical structure. The problem is that the Calcium is such a happy house cat that it is very stable and difficult to get out when if forms a "white mucky scale" on cooling towers, piping systems, and other industrial equipment. Thinking of moving to the Phoenix area - where is a good place to live?

We are currently living in the San Francisco Bay area. We really want to find a nice, safe, family-friendly community with great schools and good people. I'm curious about areas like Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, and other cities in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. I see lots of affordable housing in some of these areas, but would love your thoughts and suggestions on where a good place would be to settle long-term. Also, how many months out of the year would we totally melt from the heat? :-) Any insider information would be great!!

you're right but it isn't that easy, if it wasn't race it would be something else, breeding, religion, other physical appearance, we're a society driven by power and a perceived hierarchy. we seem to only feel good about ourselves when we think there are others lesser than we are. pretty sick really. but i think you're on the right path, seeing people as they are, as people.

WHy are you a vegetarian or vegan?

Well mainly I became a vegetarian because of cruelty to animals. Health wise I feel better than ever. No, I just went cold turkey (pardon the saying) and for the first few days I craved meat but after that I never really wanted it any more. No meat didn't always repulse me I ate meat for a long time before I changed. Now I did research and really thought about it for a long time. I talked to my parents even though they think it's dumb and unhealthy. So you should talk to yours and tell them that you want to but need help and want theirs. And my strength hasn't diminished any, that's a myth. Just stay healthy eat right, get protein and you'll be fine. I just feel fine, sometimes people ume things and that bothers me, but, I can ignore it. Because I'm not 'grown up' yet they think I haven't made and informed decision, but just go with your heart and don't let other change your mind. If you want to be a vegetarian just be one.

Will emergency vets take in a very hurt stray?

it really depends on your vet. some will and some will not, that poor cat, some shelters have vets that might help as for your cough you are proably allergic to cats. i hope all goes well!
