Do Peace Talks Work?

Al Qaeda is NOT Nazi Germany~ It is a stretch to conclude that they are going to conquer nation after nation after signing peace treaties as they have no reputation for this sort of behavior. I know the official White House mantra is that "We do not negotiate with terrorists". But ask yourself this- do we not promote negotiating with "terrorists" when we mediate in the Israeli-Palestinian crisis? Another thing to consider- It could be argued that the North-South Korea peace talks finished that war at the 38th Parallel over 50 years ago. Am I being too forgiving of their attitudes and atrocities or am I making a good point? You be the judge.
